MICHAEL EISENSTEIN is a guitarist, songwriter, producer, and professor of music based in Los Angeles. He has been a member of the band Letters To Cleo since 1991, whose hit single “Here & Now” propelled the band to national prominence in 1995. As a guitarist, Michael has toured with Melissa Etheridge, Lalah Hathaway, Lisa Loeb, Tonic, Our Lady Peace, and more. Among the many artists he has recorded with are James Taylor, Hillary Duff, and The Monkees, as well as working with Grammy winning producers Kenny Babyface Edmonds, Bob Rock, Adam Schesinger, and Trina Shoemaker. In addition to his work with Letters to Cleo, Michael leads the retro-intstrumental combo The Reigning Monarchs and plays locally with his jazz trio The Blue Grifters. Michael produces bands and solo artists at his studio in Koreatown, Los Angeles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in jazz composition from the Berklee College of Music and a master’s in commercial music from California State University, Los Angeles. He teaches at CalState LA and the California College of Music.
